His involvement with the Kalamazoo Area Wild Ones has helped educate the community about this need. Planting native species helps our community thrive. This is even more important as their natural ecosystems become more compromised due to land loss caused by development and the rise of non-native invasive species. Carla Noe-Emig, Homelife Chair, organized this event and worked on all the details since early Spring. Members worked with Carla in shifts throughout the weekend. Proceeds going to Heifer International were donated to the "Send a Girl to School" fund. The donation to Susan G. Komen will provide aid in cancer research, education, and advocacy. Thank you to members for their donations and to the community for supporting this project.
